Safety Coordinator I
Support the senior safety coordinator in implementing project-specific safety programs, conducting site inspections, and maintaining compliance documentation.

Safety is a core value at MVGeneral, not a checkbox. We are hiring a Safety Coordinator I to support our senior safety coordinator in executing project-specific safety programs on active job sites. You will assist with inspections, documentation, training coordination, and day-to-day safety compliance to help ensure every person goes home safe at the end of every day.
This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about construction safety. You will work under the direct management of a senior safety coordinator and gain hands-on experience across every aspect of project safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist the senior safety coordinator in implementing and maintaining site-specific safety plans
- Conduct daily and weekly job site safety inspections and document findings with corrective actions
- Help coordinate toolbox talks and safety orientations for new workers and subcontractors
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, Indiana state safety requirements, and owner-specific safety programs on assigned projects
- Document incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns and support the investigation process
- Maintain safety documentation including daily logs, inspection reports, and training records
- Track open corrective actions and follow up to ensure timely resolution across the project site
- Support the senior safety coordinator in preparing compliance reports for project owners and stakeholders
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of construction safety experience (internships and related coursework count)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required)
- Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards
- Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with field crews, subcontractors, and project managers
- Detail-oriented with the ability to track many open tasks and follow through on corrective actions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with safety management software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites across central Indiana
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
Preferred
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Coursework or degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field
- Experience on commercial or institutional construction projects
