About This Role
MVGeneral is looking for a Project Engineer I to join our growing project management team. In this role you will support senior project managers across active construction projects, handling documentation, coordination, and communication that keep projects on track and on budget.
This is an ideal role for someone early in their construction career who wants hands-on experience across every phase of a project, from preconstruction planning through punch list and closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence using project management software
- Assist with bid package preparation, subcontractor prequalification, and procurement
- Track project costs and prepare monthly pay applications and budget reports
- Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, and engineers on scheduling and field issues
- Attend and document weekly OAC meetings and internal project team meetings
- Support quality control inspections and maintain project photo documentation
- Assist with project closeout including punch lists, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation
- Help prepare diverse participation tracking reports for compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 0–3 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction (internships count)
- Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and standard contract forms (AIA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or P6 is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
Preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
- Experience on projects with public funding or diversity participation requirements
- Familiarity with Indiana prevailing wage and certified payroll processes
